Mediterranean Cruise - Florence and Pisa, Italy

We arrived at the Livorno port and decided we would tour Florence and Pisa on our own.  Even walking off the ship we weren't exactly sure how we were going to get around, but we ended up meeting a young couple right at the port and sharing a taxi van with them.  Super cheap after splitting the cost and a much better alternative to a big tour bus.  So off we went to Florence!

We really enjoyed strolling around this city without having a guide or headsets to deal with.  Although we didn't learn much since we didn't have a guide it was nice to go at our own pace and take it all in.

The Duomo.  Absolutely breathtaking!

The Baptistery in front of the church is known for its bronze doors.  It is said that Michelangelo believed the doors were so beautiful that they could have served as "the Gates of Paradise."

Sights around Florence.

I loved looking down alleyways as we walked around.  It was so quaint and beautiful.  I couldn't get enough of them!

We literally stood here and looked at this view for a few minutes.

La bella vita!!

Sundial near the Museo Galileo.

Lunch at a pizzeria!

Gelato, of course!

Another picturesque alley!

Guys playing music in the street.

This guy loved Florence as much as we did.

Ciao, Frienze!  Benvenuti a Pisa!

All we really went to Pisa for was to take a picture like this!  I'll spare you the ones of all of us trying to get in the shot. Haha!

Back on the ship and gearing up for a full day of Rome!
