Our second port was Cannes, France. There weren't many excursions that interested us so we settled on a walking tour. Jameson was ready to tackle this city!
I took this from our ship. We had to tender into the port so we had a nice view right offshore.
We got to the port a little early so we hung out enjoying the nice day while waiting for our tour to begin.
He was quickly losing interest!
Almost nap time!
Random, but cool.
Drinking fountain.
Everything is sort of built into the cliff-side so a walking tour was no easy feat. The buildings were very close together so it created these small alleyways. So cute!
Hilltop view.
The Cannes Film Festival was going on while we were there so we saw lots of things like this. Looks like they were setting up for an interview. We didn't see any celebrities though...at least none that I recognized.
This port was probably all of our least favorites that we visited. The walking tour was the main reason for this. It was pretty warm, we walked a lot more than I was expecting to, and our guide and equipment were terrible. We couldn't understand anything she was saying. It wasn't because of her accent either. The headsets that we were given muffled the sound so bad that we couldn't make out what she was telling us. Everyone on the tour had the same problem. Several people told her about it but her only response was that she was just a guide, not a technician and basically said we should go back to the port if we didn't like it. Because of all that, it was hard to enjoy and appreciate our surroundings. Looking back at the pictures helps me to remember just how nice of a little town it is!
Red carpet!
We were absolutely spent by the time we got back to our boat, but we were really looking forward to touring Florence and Pisa the next day!
